The wildness of giving us freedom is even more staggering when we remember that God has already paid dearly for giving freedom to the angels. But because of his grand heart he goes ahead and takes the risk, an enormous, colossal risk. The reason he didn’t make puppets is because he wanted lovers. Power can do everything but the most important thing: it cannot control love. “God’s problem is not that God is not able to do certain things. God’s problem is that God loves. Love complicates the life of God as it complicates every life.”

The Paradox of Freedom and Power;
The wildness of freedom—the kind of freedom that God grants us—has always struck me with a sense of awe.
We often reduce freedom to a simple right, something to be cherished and safeguarded, yet its true depth is far more profound and untamed.
Imagine the staggering courage, the audacious risk, of a Creator who bestows upon us the power to choose.
He gives us freedom knowing full well it opens the door to rebellion, to chaos, to a world fractured by pain and heartbreak.
This is no timid, calculating act; it is the reckless generosity of a God whose love is boundless and unflinching. He risks it all—not because He is unaware of the consequences, but because He values love over control, relationship over safety.
It is the ultimate gamble of a Creator wild enough to trust His creation, even when it means risking their rejection.
Think about it.- Freedom was granted to the angels. They, too, were given the power of choice—the breathtaking possibility of rejecting the Creator they were designed to worship.
God, in His infinite wisdom, did not withhold this dangerous gift, even knowing the storm it could unleash.
The rebellion of Lucifer, the most radiant of all, stands as a stark testament to the risk God willingly embraced.
Lucifer’s pride ignited the first recorded act of defiance, shattering the harmony of heaven and leading countless others astray.
This rebellion was not a mere cosmic hiccup—it was a cataclysm, a fracture in the divine order that echoed through eternity.
And yet, God allowed it. Why? Because the heart of God beats with a love so profound that it insists on freedom as an essential part of that love. For God, love without choice is no love at all, no matter the cost.
The paradox of this freedom is that it complicates everything. We often think of freedom as the absence of control, as an open expanse without boundaries, but it is far more profound—and far more dangerous.
Freedom invites risk, not just for us, but for God Himself. In granting us the power to choose, God willingly opened Himself to the possibility of heartbreak.
Love, after all, is all powerful, yet a delicate and fragile thing, a bond that cannot be forced or bullied.
Love thrives in an atmosphere of freedom and choice; This portrayal captures both the beauty and the frailty of love, making it resonate deeply with anyone who has experienced its complexity
Love is profoundly powerful despite — or perhaps because of — its being so fragile.
Its strength lies in its ability to transform, to connect, and to endure even in the face of adversity.
Love has the power to inspire, to heal, and to create meaning in ways that no other force can.
Its fragility is not a weakness but a reminder of its authenticity
Love’s power is paradoxical — it is gentle, yet it can withstand storms; it is tender, yet it can ignite revolutions; it is intangible, yet it shapes lives and histories.
This multifaceted strength is what makes love both delicate and prevailing.
When God gave us freedom, He embraced the reality that we might turn away, that we might reject Him, betray Him, even despise Him. Yet, He gave it anyway.
Why? Because love, in its purest form, carries that risk. Without freedom, love is not love; it is control, an empty gesture devoid of meaning. God’s choice to grant us freedom is the ultimate act of vulnerable, self-giving love.
And therein lies the struggle of the Creator.
It is not that God lacks the ability to control—far from it. His power is absolute, capable of silencing every voice of defiance, breaking every chain of rebellion, and bending all creation to His will with a single command. But here is the mystery:
God does not wield His power the way we might expect. He does not dominate or coerce. Instead, He chooses a path we scarcely understand. He loves, and just uses His influence to let us choose.
Love, by its very nature, is vulnerable.
It steps into the wild, the unpredictable, the uncertain. It does not demand; it invites.
In His love, God takes the unfathomable risk of granting us freedom—the freedom to choose Him or to turn away.
Such a gift is costly, for it opens the door to rejection, yet it is the only way for love to be genuine, for relationship to be real.
This is the intention at the heart of the divine—a love so profound and purposeful that it willingly chooses vulnerability over control.
God’s power could erase all doubt, could compel our obedience and make us conform to His will in an instant. But such conformity would be hollow, for it would not be love.
Love, by its very nature, complicates everything, just as it complicates every human life.
To truly love, we must first be free—free to choose, to risk, to stumble, and to walk with the ever-present possibility of loss. Yet it is in this freedom that the beauty of love is revealed.
God’s glory shines not in forcing allegiance, but in receiving the love of those who choose Him freely.
There is nothing more beautiful, more sacred, than a heart that loves willingly, uncoerced, for such love reflects the very essence of God Himself.
This is the wildness of the God we serve—the One who desires not mere obedience but lovers.
This is no tame love; it is fierce, bold, and untamed, rooted in a freedom that reflects His very nature.
And in this freedom, we discover true power, for only love—love freely given, unforced and genuine—possesses the strength to heal and redeem the world.
So, what will it be? Will you risk stepping into this adventure of love, embrace the wildness of relationship, and walk in the freedom that leads to life, or continue on in that mediocre mode that at its best has only temporary relief from the hopeless future that awaits.
The choice is yours alone, a sacred gift placed in your hands. Choose wisely… Choose courageously… Choose love, and find life everlasting.
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing. Therefore … choose life!
(Deuteronomy 30: 19)
